Have you ever wondered about the meaning of our name? Pedra Formosa means "beautiful stone" and refers to the intricately decorated stone slabs found in specific structures within hillforts across the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula. Dating back to the Iron Age, these constructions have been interpreted as ritualistic bathhouses/saunas. The one in the photo is from a visit to the archaeological site of Citânia de Briteiros, Guimarães (Portugal) a few years ago.

Yesterday, I stopped by the chimney that rises from our fireplace and runs through the studio, the warmest spot to stretch my legs.
I had just opened the windows because on the windowsill, I have a small bone-cleaning station, and I wanted to check their condition, in the rush of the day, I sometimes don’t even realize the privilege of having this view.

It’s been a year since we first visited this house for the first time. Back then, this space was just an empty room with a single bed. Now, it has become my creative retreat. It still feels surreal, especially surrounded by the quiet of the village.
