This is actually the first time we’ve seen our playful charms worn with a Filipiniana top—and surprisingly, bagay na bagay.

Maybe that’s the thing about creative people. The owner and founder of Modern Ilongga has been surrounded by handcrafted pieces for years, so she already knows what she likes and can visualize how she wants something to look.

She liked one of our existing designs but wanted hers her way—more pearls, detachable charms she could mix and match, and details that felt more like her.

And sometimes, a client herself inspires you to create. There are certain faces, personalities, and auras that make you think, “I know what would look beautiful on her.” That’s exactly how the two new earring designs we posted today came about. We created them especially for her, playing with what we had and choosing shapes and details we felt would complement her features and her Filipiniana.

Modela Filipina is a small business, and maybe that’s the beauty of being small. We don’t mass-produce. Most of our pieces are made to order or in very limited quantities, so we get to know our clients, remember what they like, and sometimes even get inspired by them.

Because sometimes, the person wearing the jewelry becomes part of the inspiration behind it.
