Apolinario Mabini Awards The Apolinario Mabini Awards was launched by the Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled, Inc.

(PFRD) in 1974 on the occasion of its Silver Anniversary. Since then, it has been a major annual program of the PFRD.

The Awarding Ceremony for the 31st Apolinario Mabini Awards originally set for December 2025 is moved to the first quarter of 2026 due to unforeseen circumstances.

The selection process is now underway, including the screening and site visits for the disability-friendly Establishment category. The Screening Committee will directly contact the nominee or nominator should additional information or supporting documents be needed.

DISABILITY-FRIENDLY ESTABLISHMENT AWARD

The Disability Friendly Establishment Award is for an establishment, government or private, with facilities & services fully accessible to persons with disabilities making their stay safer, more pleasant, and convenient.

For this award, Criteria will refer to Rules I, II, and III of the IRR (Implementing Rules and Regulations) of BP 344 (Batas Pambansa Blg. 344).

1). Rule I : “Scope and Application”
2). Rule II : “Minimum Requirements for Accessibility”
3). Rule III : “Specific Requirements For Buildings And Related Structures For Public Use”
Rule II refers to the required architectural features and facilities as specified for each building type and use, while Rule 3 refers to various building types and use.

THE 31ST APOLINARIO MABINI AWARDS

The Apolinario Mabini Awards was launched by the Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled, Inc. (PFRD) in 1974 on its Silver Anniversary. The Award, now on its 50th year, aims to recognize and honor individuals, groups and agencies that have made outstanding contributions to the welfare and inclusion of persons with disabilities and to promote their wider recognition as self-respecting, self-reliant and productive members of society. Awards rites are traditionally held at Malacañang Palace with the President as the special guest.

Good news, everyone! ALL NOMINATION FEES ARE NOW WAIVED.

Only the Disability Friendly Establishment Award will need a processing fee of Php 3,000.00. All other award categories' nomination fees are WAIVED.

For online submissions, a copy of proof of payment should be included in the submission. Fee may be paid thru bank transfer or deposit to:

PFRD current account no: 3101 1013 11 - BPI Greenhills Branch
Check payments should be made in the name of “Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled, Inc.”

Those who have paid the nomination fees will be reimbursed accordingly. Please email us at [email protected] to process the refund request.
