CHRISTMAS 2020
A message from the HPV CEO
A day from now, we will be celebrating Christmas together. Apparently this 2020 will be an entirely different Christmas as we are under the new normal circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Worse, some of our colleagues were also affected by catastrophes brought by the typhoons. Indeed, this is the most crucial and challenging year. Despite of, we will continue to live our lives, do the usual Christmas preparation if we can with our families and friends albeit under the new normal health protocols.
Looking back before the pandemic, we were very much upbeat. We have so much vigor and well inspired, as we are on track with our goals. We are actually so much looking forward on another banner year. However, the pandemic dampened the business environment resulting to widespread downfall of small businesses not just in the country but on a worldwide scale. And like any other businesses, we struggled to survive.
From a positive outlook before the pandemic, we shifted our course towards the survival mode. The company has to decisively made bold decisions that affect the way we normally do things. We implemented strict work measures, gave up some high cost centers that impact us financially and other strategies to ensure survival.
Grappling from almost no revenue during the height of the ECQ, we have to juggle the resources as we have to maintain a responsive workforce to ensure business continuity.
But then, there is a silver lining with all of this. The pandemic validated our efforts on higher standard innovation which put us on the level with global companies. Our businesses never stop because our advanced business continuity programs were already at place. Our people had fast adjusted to the new work scheme; hence, even at the height of the pandemic we are able continue to provide the services as we committed to our clients.
The downward business trend has also affected our entities. The declining volume is a result of the slow business recoveries as companies were busy focusing on survival mechanisms. It is a reality we have to painstakingly realize in doing business for the rest of the year. On the other hand, we have to contend with community lockdowns, restrictions on travels, difficulties on contacting companies, schools, etc. These hamper our ability to deliver our deliverables. Indeed, the situation is tough, but we are determined anyway. We are stronger than the crisis, aren’t we?
With all the negativities at hand which we have to contend with our continuing operations we are very much thankful to our clients who believed in us. Despite of the fluctuating business environment, we received good volumes with our key customers more than enough for us to hurdle the year. Thus, even with challenges at hand, your management made sure that our blessings trickles down to all its active workforces who in one way or another helped the company to survive. The very people who stand by with the company at the most tumultuous times, I am very much grateful and forever indebted to your support.
But most of all, we are thankful to our Lord Almighty, who made sure we are prepared on this pandemic and provided us the needed volume and revenue for us to survive. We thank Him for all the years of guidance and stewardship. We thank Him for the 99% of our existing clients re-signed us with new contracts and the more than 10 new clients who commences business with us despite of the pandemic times. We thank Him for keeping everyone in all our entities safe and sound and in good health. We thank Him for making our company, COVID free especially with our hardworking field team, who toils hard roaming around the corners of the country even at the height of the pandemic just to make sure we provide the requirements of our clients. Lastly, we thank Him for everything we have today, the gifts that we received from Thy bounty.
Teams, we may not be the best company, I may not be a best manager but God knows we are trying the best we can. My primary duty at this point of time is to steer the company towards survival to save hundreds of job at stake. I may not save all the jobs at hand but we will try. Thank you for all your help. I truly appreciate it with all my heart.
I wish you all Merry Christmas with your families. Let’s continue the Christmas spirit despite of everything. Let us remember that Jesus is the primary reason for the season!
