Why you shouldn’t let clients lowball you.

When clients push your rate down, they often forget that they’re not just paying for “time” — they’re paying for experience, reliability, and overhead.

As a VA, your expenses don’t magically disappear just because someone wants a cheaper rate.
Here’s what actually goes into showing up professionally every day:

Equipment cost: $2,000+ (laptop, backup devices, headset, monitors etc.)

Monthly internet: $40+

Monthly electricity costs: $40+

Software & tools (paid subscriptions)

Ongoing training and upskilling

Taxes and government contributions

Time spent communicating, problem-solving, and being on-call

Lowballing a VA means asking them to absorb these costs while still delivering high-quality work.

Respecting fair rates isn’t just about money.. it’s about valuing the service, the skill, and the person behind the screen.

Good clients don’t look for the cheapest help.
They look for help that actually works.

Fair pay = better results for everyone.

I’ve done LTR in Atlanta, STR in Atlanta and Tennessee, and midterm in California... but processing move-ins for displaced families nationwide? That’s a whole different level. If you think you know everything, this will change your perspective!! 😆😂
