"The Old Necklace"
In the chest I found Lola’s necklace,
Tarnished now, its chain in pieces.
No more shine, with dents and breaks,
But on the scale, it still has worth.
They call it scrap gold,
18K, 14K, even a little, as long as it’s real.
Weigh it, gram it, price it now,
Your old jewelry turns to cash somehow.
Can’t be worn, can’t be shown,
Better to sell than let it rot alone.
Because gold, though it’s aged and worn,
Can still wake up a wallet that’s empty and torn.
Wanna start digging through your drawer now? 😂
