Here’s a little food for thought for you if you love piercings but are still unsure whether to choose flatback earrings or butterfly back earrings.
Here’s a quick comparison between the two so you can decide which one is better for your healing phase.
Flatback earrings are designed with a smooth, flat disc at the back that rests comfortably against your skin. This makes them ideal for fresh piercings because they are more secure, less likely to snag, and generally more hygienic during the healing process.
On the other hand, butterfly back earrings use a small clutch backing that is easy for you to remove and is commonly found in regular jewelry. However, they can sometimes trap dirt and bacteria, which may cause irritation, especially on newly pierced areas.
For safer healing and better comfort, professional piercers usually recommend flatback jewelry for new piercings. ✨
