It’s been a bit of a rough month, if I’m honest.

I broke my arm in 3 places and have had to figure out how to do life in completely new ways. Frustration and pain have definitely been leading the charge most days.

I haven’t been making much jewellery lately, and I know I’ve been a bit quiet or slow to reply. I really appreciate your patience while I navigate this.

But… in the middle of all that, there’s been a pretty big highlight too, as I graduated my Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Arts Therapy.

Feels strange holding both of those things at once, struggle and achievement… but I guess that’s life sometimes.

The land around me inspires everything I make.

The hills, the wind moving through leaves, the way light shifts across the landscape.

Back at the bench, I hammer those textures into the metal, shaping small, organic surfaces that echo the land.

Little landscapes you can wear.

Watching texture appear in metal is always a reminder of life.

Each hammer strike leaves a mark.

At first it can feel rough… but slowly a pattern appears.

Strength. Texture. Character.

The knocks we experience in life shape us in the same way. forming something stronger and more interesting than smooth perfection ever could be.
