Moonlight Sea Star - Brooch. On display as part of my current exhibition, Enchanted Waters. Also available to view online: www.stephlustedjewellery.com

This brooch is hand fabricated from Sterling Silver sheet using the ancient technique of repoussé with hammer and tool to create a concave, organic form. This makes the brooch extremely light in weight, making it easy to wear on a variety of fabrics.
The tactile texture on the front facing side of the brooch is created by hand tools to mimic the actual skin of the sea star.

This one of a kind piece features a blue sheen moonstone set in gold, with yellow gold balls further decorating the tentacles.

With the Tide - Longfin Eel/Tuna Brooch
Currently on display as part of my current exhibition Enchanted Waters. On show until 30th June.

I have made a small number of Longfin Eel/Tuna brooches as part of this exhibition. Super lightweight to wear each piece has been hand fabricated from Sterling Silver sheet using the ancient technique of repoussé, each has its own unique character.

Tip: When wearing brooches on finer materials, remember to either stitch the pin over and under the fabric multiple times for a sturdier position, or thread the pin through the undergarment.

Thanks to , who captured this image from my window display 😀

What's inside? Swipe to reveal...
I have fond memories from my childhood of beachcombing the local foreshore and sand dunes for treasure. The treasure in my mind were these pure white spiral shells that stood out against the dark, rough driftwood. I later learned these incredible pieces of nature did infact belong to the body of a small squid, the Rams horn squid, and these shell's were what created their buoyancy.
They still fascinate me today, and each time I find one, I still feel that excitement of finding treasure... :-)

This Objet d'Art consists of a hinged shell crafted in Sterling Silver supported by three solid Sterling Silver fish. By lifting the gold spiral k**b, the hinged shell can be opened to reveal a Rams Horn Shell Pendant carved from Mother of Pearl Shell and suspended from a gold wheat chain. This necklace can be removed and worn when desired.
