When Warren & Mahoney architects rang me 3yrs ago to ask if it would be possible to have a Ribon panel system weaving at 45 deg angles around the perimeter of a building, I had no hesitation in saying, Yes!. Little did I realise the multiple curves and pitches we would be contending with.
We have just started framing and panelling the soffits with the Ribon system on this super complex build and although very challenging, we have been enjoying problem solving and appreciating each day as we make progress around the building. Can't wait to show you the completed product.

Onsite today at Excellere College, where 320m² of the Ribon Soffit System is transforming these large overhangs into something pretty special. The framing is up, the soffit panels are going in, and the whole space is really starting to take shape.

A huge shoutout to the team at Construction — their workmanship is outstanding, and it’s awesome to see the system coming together so well. Can’t wait to see the final result!

Hotel Grand Chancellor, Auckland CBD. Ribon Limited was commissioned to frame and install The Ribon soffit system in the Laneway of the hotel. We had a huge challenge navigating around a jungle of hydraulics, mechanicals and cabling. With a strict ceiling height we were able to conceal these services by a trapeze framing configuration with minimal loss of height with our compact and robust framing system. A small feat however amongst this incredibly designed complex. It was very rewarding to have been apart of this astounding project by Ignite Architects.

Manukau Hub- West Annex. This suspended Ribon ceiling made up of several radius with constellation design incorporated, significant to the Iwis. The design was done in collaboration with Mana Whenua and CPRW Architecture. Not all the lights were on and the stars are also represented by nylon rope threaded through our soffit panels.

This beautifully designed home on the Mangawhai coast which we were very grateful to be apart of the carefully selected almost maintenance free materials. With lots of complex angles including the raking/tapered/sloping soffit, We had to come up with a solution on how to tackle the intersection. Joining the panels would have looked unsightly, so we folded the intersection into the panels to marry up with the raking sloping taper. Not at all easy-loved the challenge! See pics 3-4.

Proud to have been a part of this monumental project in Papua New Guinea. This new international airport designed by Japanese architects- Azusa Sekkei Architects in the Nadzab Province.
Ribon Limited were asked to commission 20,000 lm of our soffit panel and bracketing/framing system. A custom curved bracket had to be designed to accommodate each end of the buildings curved features. The complexity of installing the sloping tapered side eaves were a challenge and all executed nicely by Fletcher Building Morobe.
