A little update from me.

If you know me, you’ll know I’m not exactly first in line to put myself out there. And honestly, I know I’m not the only one who gets the ick around self-promotion. But I’m trying to step beyond what has become an uncomfortable comfort zone.

So here’s the next small-but-big step in this creative adventure. Meitsje has been great, but as a maker, I think it’s time to start using my own name, Mel Postma. This really feels less like a rebrand and much more like a tiny act of honesty.

Thanks for being here — I’d love for you to follow along, say hi, and keep an eye out for what’s coming next.

Sunday in the studio. I love a chunky beaded necklace, it makes me feel like I’m a kid again. These blue Krobo beads come from Ghana, they are sand-cast and made by hand. The irregularities make them so beautiful. The amber coloured glass beads are vintage and repurposed. The silver clasp is big (had to be) and made by me. 💙🧡💙🧡

Tried something new this weekend, venturing into the world of filati glass to make a mini mosaic and sterling silver pendant. Imperfections and all, I’m happy with my first attempt. A gentle reminder that every beginner holds the potential to become a master, that’s the beauty of the journey.
