END OF AN ERA, BUT WE WILL BE BACK!

It's been one hell of a week, full of emotions as we said goodbye to our first family since moving back to NZ in 2021. This is where my venture into my jewellery making workshops began, and what a wild ride it's been! I still can't believe how many of you embraced the experience, with many of you even coming back for more!

I don't take any of this for granted, especially these last couple of years when most of us experienced such tough times but still showed up for us small businesses. I had so many lovely messages over the last few weeks from followers near and far, and want to assure you all that this is not a farewell. WE WILL BE BACK! How it will all look and where is all still very much up in the air, but I promise I won't keep you in the dark for too long! So please follow along as we pave this new and exciting (albeit slightly uncertain) path.

🌟 THAT'S A WRAP! 🌟 (+ A BELATED UPDATE)

The last rings from the workshop were picked up this morning so I'm officially signing off for 2025!

This year saw lots of changes, both for the business and personally, and it's been a wild ride at times but looking back, I'm pretty proud of what I achieved over the year 🤩 I ran 34 workshops this year, and two terms of the new wax carving course. That's around 200 one-of-a-kind heirlooms, keepsakes, wedding/anniversary rings that are being treasured and hopefullypassed down for years to come! Of course, none of this would have been possible without all of your support. So THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for keeping my dream a reality. I know it's been (and still is) a tough time for so many of us, so I'm even more appreciative that so many of you put your trust in me to bring your visions to life.

A LITTLE UPDATE...

This update should have come months ago, but here we are in December already (better late than never right?). Next year will look a little different as the workshops will be taking a break until the latter half of 2026. I'm already having to turn away some lovely people who wanted to come and make rings early next year, and I have to apologise deeply that I can't because we will be welcoming a sibling for Isla and Pixel in a couple of months time! I will definitely be itching to get back to the bench with you all soon though, so you can rest assured, I WILL BE BACK! I PROMISE!

We will also be moving (but we'll still be on the shore) so will hopefully have a new studio when workshops start back up. Please don't forget about us and keep following for updates as we head into a slightly new phase for Osakana Jewellery 🙏

There will be just 2 more scheduled Wax Carving Workshops in January before we pack up. Although both sessions are sold out, do put yourself on the waitlist as I do sometimes get last minute cancellations. If you have a group of 3 or more, I can also hold private workshops up until mid January, just get in touch 😊

✨️ THE FAUNA RINGS ✨️

The trio of rings inspired by NZ fauna depict the Tui, Piwakawaka, and the ocean. These took much longer than I had hoped, but they're just in time for the gifting season! They will be available in brass, silver, or 9K gold to suit every budget.

You can pre-order these rings until 1st December, which will give me enough time to get them made and shipped in time to be placed under the tree 🎄

A few of each will also be heading to a couple of stockists if you would like to see them IRL too but will let you know when they're in store soon.

The lovely Orrin came to the wax carving workshop with a vision but it developed into something a little different (and even better imo). I love how this turned out, and the colourful stones make the ring so fun and unique!

If you fancy making your own one-of-a-kind ring, make sure you book onto the next wax carving workshop on the 1st November. Everything is still a little up in the air right now, but this may be the last workshop for a wee while. More details to come soon as things become clearer.

Another set of unique wedding rings picked up last week after being carefully crafted by Liz and Beth. They each chose contrasting textures, one raw and rocky, they other organic and molten. But they still look so perfect as a set!!

August and September are chocka with private workshops, which I am SO grateful for 🙏 but it's also been a little tough as I've not been feeling 100% 🥲 Hopefully my body decides to play ball soon as I've got some new things to show you soon!

In the meantime, if you fancy joining a workshop, there are still spaces for both the next silversmithing (October 11th) and wax carving workshops (September 27th). The new 6 week block course for wax carving is also starting on September 22nd, which is filling up too! It'll be super fun I promise!

This has been in the making for quite some time since I (temporarily) lost my wedding ring. But I finally managed to get some time to finish it and I'm kinda stoked with how it turned out! I wanted to keep with the same woodland vibe of my OG ring (stacked in 📸2) but jazz it up a little and add a wee gemstone.

I went with an emerald (after so many of you guys voted for it over the garnet), which I think is perfect with the subtley pinky rose gold 🌹

The last two 📸 are the original sketch and the wax model before it was sent off for casting.

It stacks nicely with both my old wedding ring and engagement ring. Wearing all three is also 👌 but also quite blingy (for me at least) 😜

These two lovelies managed to fit in a wedding ring making workshop in their last week in NZ before they head back home to the US. They made the rings for each other and chose their favourite verses to stamp inside their rings. They were so encouraging and supportive of each other throughout the process. Literally 🔥

One of my favourite things about my workshops is when you see them on hands in real life! The lovely Rhi and Sean had to wait a little while until they could wear the beautiful rings they made at the wax carving workshop, incorporating some repurposed diamonds. They finally tied the knot and they kindly shared some photos with me of their big day. Aren't they the cutest?

I wish them a lifetime of love and happiness! ❣️
