Four and a half years ago, I came across this quote that deeply resonated with me.
I was so inspired by those words that I created an illustration to pair with them. Little did I know it would become one of my most loved pieces.
At every market and event, it’s been my bestselling postcard. It’s also gone viral several times on Pinterest and Instagram.
Perhaps there’s something about these words that resonates with so many of us.
I’ve always thought of intuition as an in-built inner compass that guides us through life.
Growing up, I was raised to follow the norm, to do what was safe and acceptable to society. But the rebellious part of me never quite accepted that.
For years, I battled between what felt right for me and what was expected of me. In 2017, I finally experienced life beyond those limitations and began reconnecting with my intuition.
And here’s something I’ve realised since creating this illustration.
love, KAUR is built almost entirely on intuition.
I’ll be real with you. Half the things I do for love, KAUR, I’ve had absolutely no prior experience in. I’m constantly figuring things out as I go, learning through trial and error, without knowing how things will turn out.
Yet, so often, the process comes naturally to me.
Sometimes I’ll have an idea and somehow just know how I want to bring it to life. Other times, I feel drawn to something I can’t logically explain.
It’s hard to put into words. There’s this inner knowing that tells me to explore, take a chance, and trust that I’ll figure things out along the way.
And the more I follow it, the more I realise how much of what I’ve created began with trusting that feeling.
Of course, I still experience fear, doubt and uncertainty. Probably more often than you think. But I’m learning I don’t need all the answers before taking the next step.
✨ So here’s something I’d love for you to reflect on:
Are you following your intuition, even when it guides you away from what’s familiar or acceptable?
Or do you reason it away and choose the path that makes sense to everyone else?
Perhaps that little voice knows more than you think. 💛
love,
KAUR
