Our customer with the golden locks and the adorable face to wear striking earrings, came by. We had an impromptu fotoshoot because she knows what suits her and we couldn’t get enough of seeing our collection on her.

Just in: a flower set with of calibre-cut rubies, made in America, on the website soon. Then our happy flowers with citrine clips made in Milan, a pair of antique, traditional Dutch “throat buttons” from Staphorst turned into earrings, stylish Boucheron clip-ons earrings with a cabochon-cut citrine, new in: earrings by Cusi with stunning oval tiger’s eye and diamond, and a pair of woven gold earrings with a large half mabé pearls, made in Napoli by an unknown maker.

We date this gorgeous bracelet around 1900 and think that it was made in France. It consists of thirteen beautifully decorated panels that make the bracelet curve nicely around the wrist. The curling, flowing shapes are reminiscent of acanthus leaves, a classical decorative motif used since ancient Greek and Roman times. So romantic yet timeless, elegant and chique.

Lilies of the valley in Victorian jewelry represent many things: the tears of the Virgin Mary, memories of a mother or grandmother, a ladder to heaven, and a return to happiness - like the arrival of spring, the promise of better times and renewal.

The lillies on this Austro-Hungarian commemorative bracelet are made with rose-cut diamonds. The bracelet is made in 18-karat gold and fully decorated with black enamel. In the original box of C.J. Begeer in Utrecht. A master piece. Austria-Hungary, circa 1860.

Necklaces like these are called “lavalieres” and the story goes that their name comes from the Duchesse de La Valliere, the mistress of Louis XIV in the 1660s.

The style became popular in the 1800s and this continued on into the Edwardian era, when this example was made. It is platinum and white gold and set with an antique diamond of approximately 1.45 ct. Above it, another larger and eight smaller diamonds, together weighing approximately 2 ct, all set in millegriffe borders. Netherlands, circa 1900
