• Pragma watches are available through Ace Jewelers’ Museum Quarter boutique in Amsterdam, its London showroom, and online via AceJewelers.com.

Ace Jewelers welcomes Pragma to its collection of independent watchmakers, becoming the Geneva-based brand’s exclusive retail partner for the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, and bringing the P1 Perseverance collection to collectors in Amsterdam, London, and online.

The P1 Perseverance is a 39mm Swiss-made chronometer built around an unusually transparent production framework. Alongside the watch itself, Pragma makes visible the industrial partners, material origins, and component choices that shape the finished object.

For Ace Jewelers, the arrival of Pragma reflects a broader view of independent watchmaking. Some independent makers distinguish themselves through movement architecture, hand-finishing, métiers d’art, design, or a distinct cultural point of view. Pragma adds a different but increasingly relevant perspective: the idea that precision, provenance, and transparency should be considered together.

“Pragma raises questions that are becoming increasingly relevant to collectors,” says Alon Ben Joseph, CEO of Ace Jewelers. “The watch itself has to be convincing first, and in the P1 I really like that Pragma has not made another retro-inspired watch. It feels contemporary, architectural, and very much its own. But at this level, design alone is not the full story. You also want to understand what sits behind it: who made the components, where the materials come from, and how transparent the process is. Pragma does not treat those questions as an afterthought. To me, that shows respect for collectors. It does not simply ask them to trust the story. It lets them look closely at the substance behind it. That is what makes the brand interesting to us and to many of the collectors we speak with.”

The central idea behind Pragma is direct: the object and the process behind it should be held to the same standard.

Pragma was built around the belief that precision should extend beyond chronometry. It should also apply to the origin of materials, the choice of partners, the way components are made, and the way a watch is explained to the person who wears it. The brand structures that belief around three pillars: 100% Swiss production, traceability through identified partners and materials, and design shaped by construction, proportion, and visible structure.

For collectors, this gives the conversation another layer. The watch is still judged as a watch: by its proportions, movement, finishing, display, and feel on the wrist. But Pragma also invites a deeper reading, where the thinking behind the object becomes part of its value.

Pragma was founded by Kai Hsuan Liu and Christopher Wegener, bringing together design, engineering, and practical watchmaking experience.

Liu’s path began in Taiwan, where he started designing mechanical watches before continuing his studies at ECAL in Switzerland. There, he met Wegener, whose background as a watchmaker gave the project its technical foundation. Their partnership brought together two ways of thinking: design as a matter of structure and meaning, and watchmaking as a discipline of construction, regulation, and ex*****on.

Wegener discovered watchmaking at a young age and later trained at Rolex, where he developed a foundation in industrial precision, tolerance control, assembly, and regulation. He went on to spend several years alongside F.P. Journe, contributing to calibres such as the Chronomètre Souverain, Octa, and Chronomètre à Résonance. He later worked at Laurent Ferrier on natural escapement and tourbillon constructions, before spending years within Manufacture Hautes Complications on multi-axis tourbillons, minute repeaters, and perpetual calendars.

By the time Wegener began shaping Pragma, he had spent two decades learning how watches are made, and what that process should demand of itself. That experience gives Pragma’s traceability argument its weight: the brand’s openness is not only about communication, but about how decisions are made before the watch exists.

Pragma’s standard is simple to state but demanding to execute: every material and every component should be accounted for. That is why traceability is treated as part of the watch itself; the object becomes the visible result of the process that produced it. Pragma also frames this through an ecological index, looking not only at materials, but also at treatments and transformations.

Pragma gives collectors more than broad claims about trusted suppliers, Swiss Made designations, responsible sourcing, or sustainability. The information is not hidden behind vague wording or minimum thresholds. The brand breaks the watch down by component, manufacturer, supplier, material, recycled content, and volume contribution, giving those claims a component-level record. Where applicable, each part is tied to its maker, material origin, and recycled-content percentage, from the movement and case to the dial, hands, Super-LumiNova, and strap.

In Pragma’s own logic, every component is chosen twice: once for performance, and once for provenance. The point is not to claim perfection, but to make the process inspectable. For collectors, that makes sustainability more specific: which material is used, by whom, in which component, and why.

The P1 Perseverance is Pragma’s foundation collection and the first physical expression of the brand’s framework. It is a 39mm automatic chronometer with a 10.5mm profile, sapphire crystals front and back, and water resistance of 50 metres. The watch is compact in proportion, but deliberately structured in ex*****on.

The case gives the P1 much of its identity. Produced by Voutilainen & Cattin SA, it is built in five layers, with clear transitions between planes and alternating brushed and polished surfaces. Across the collection, Pragma uses 5N rose gold, Solar Stainless Steel by Panatere, or a combination of Solar Stainless Steel and tantalum. The steel is made from 100% recycled raw materials using solar-concentration furnaces in La Chaux-de-Fonds, showing how Pragma’s approach begins at the level of the raw material itself.

The dial, produced with Comblémine SA, follows the same construction-led approach. Hours and minutes are displayed centrally, while rotating discs indicate the date at 12 o’clock and the running seconds at 6 o’clock. The layout gives the P1 its own mechanical rhythm, while remaining direct and legible.

Inside is the Calibre Pragma 1031-1, developed by Pragma in collaboration with Chronode SA. The movement is an ISO 3159-certified automatic chronometer with a variable inertia balance, 4 Hz frequency, 41 jewels, and a 60-hour power reserve. Its bridges, mainplate, module, and rotor structure make extensive use of 100% recycled Grade 5 titanium supplied by Panatere.

The P1 brings these elements together as one system: a layered case, an architectural dial, a chronometer-certified movement, and a material framework that can be traced. It is not a watch where design, engineering, and provenance sit apart from one another. They shape the same object.

Ace Jewelers’ independent watchmaking portfolio has grown around makers who bring a defined point of view to the industry. In some cases that point of view is expressed through complications, finishing, astronomy, design, or movement architecture. With Pragma, the emphasis shifts toward production itself: how a watch is sourced, documented, constructed, and explained.

Within the Ace Jewelers collection, Pragma adds a distinct angle to the conversation around independent watchmaking. Pragma presents a version of contemporary Swiss watchmaking in which transparency, mechanical seriousness, design discipline, and genuine watchmaking interest can exist together.

“Alon and the Ace Jewelers team have built something rare: a house with a clear point of view, championing independent creators with strong identities, meaningful values, and a genuine vision for watchmaking,” says Christopher Wegener, Co-founder & Master Watchmaker at Pragma. “Partnering with people who curate with that level of intent is what makes this collaboration meaningful, and it is a privilege for Pragma to take its place in their selection.”

Pragma is a young brand, but not a casual one. Its first collection already shows a complete position: disclosed production, independent design language, serious movement development, and a willingness to let collectors look closely at the process behind the watch. The inaugural production has already found collectors across several markets, and availability through Ace Jewelers will naturally remain selective.

Through Ace Jewelers, Pragma watches are now presented across two anchor markets: the Mayfair showroom for the United Kingdom, the Museum Quarter boutique in Amsterdam for the Netherlands, and online via www.AceJewelers.com.

Given the small-scale nature of Pragma’s production and the number of configurations within the P1 Perseverance collection, availability will vary by reference. Collectors interested in a specific ex*****on are welcome to contact the Ace Jewelers team to discuss current availability, pricing, lead times, and future allocations.

Listed prices are indicative and may depend on the current exchange rate. Final pricing and availability can be confirmed directly with Ace Jewelers.

The BIVER Automatique Quartzite is both dynamic and brings tranquility.

Quartzite is a hard, naturally occurring non-foliated metamorphic rock. It forms when quartz-rich sandstone is altered by the extreme heat and pressure of tectonic compression. This process recrystallizes the sand grains, fusing them into a dense network of interlocking quartz crystals.

Happy - we have the Sartory Billard SB04-E Aventurines Starry Night in-stock.

PLEASE NOTE: The piece we have in-stock comes with a blue leather strap. Optional is the blue rubber strap in the pictures on this page. Or, a SB stainless streel bracelet. Contact us for availability & pricing.

Crafted entirely from a single block of midnight-blue aventurine, this dial captures the quiet majesty of a star-filled sky.
Each glimmer within the stone is a fleck of metal reflecting light like stardust — subtle, shifting, and alive.
The seamless expanse of aventurine, extending from edge to center, is a minimalist expression of infinity — a pure, uninterrupted window to the sky.
Each piece is naturally unique, shaped by mineral formation and chance, making every SB04-E Aventurine Starry Night a one-of-a-kind creation.

Floating above this celestial depth is Sartory-Billard’s signature sapphire disk — a transparent architectural layer that carries the markers while preserving the purity of the dial beneath.
Measuring just 0.3 mm thick and coated with anti-reflective layers on both sides, this transparent layer creates the illusion of depth — as if the indexes were suspended above the stars.
Even-numbered markers are diamond-cut metal, polished to capture the light, while the minute track and odd-numbered indexes are pad-printed with BGW9 Super-LumiNova®, forming Sartory-Billard’s distinctive Y-shaped pattern.

Each hand is a sculpture in itself — cut from metal with diamond precision and finished by hand.
The hour and minute hands are brushed and filled with BGW9 Super-LumiNova®, glowing softly in the dark.
The seconds hand, slender and perfectly balanced, ends in a polished tip that glides across the aventurine surface like a comet tracing its orbit across the night sky.
This interplay of reflection and depth makes time feel almost alive — luminous, breathing, in motion.

The concave bezel of the SB04-E draws light inward, amplifying the depth of the aventurine while reducing optical thickness.
