It begins quietly. Not with an entrance, but with a noticing.
The kind that happens twice; once in passing, and then again, slower.

She lifts her glass, tilts her head just enough, and the light catches it: pink stones, soft but certain, held between Tahitian pearls and freshwater pearls that carry their own quiet glow. It settles on her like it has always belonged there.

Someone looks. Then looks again.

Later, they will not remember the room, or the music, or what was said.
