With excitement and anticipation, I will be departing for Shanghai and Qingdao the day after tomorrow.
This journey includes a visit to the archaeological station of the “Changjiangkou No.2 Ancient Ship” in Shanghai to learn more about China’s recent underwater archaeology and ancient ship preservation efforts. I will then continue to to conduct lectures and exchange sessions with students and faculty members from the Cultural Relics Conservation and Restoration Department, as well as donate several pieces of Wanli Ship porcelain for research and educational purposes.
I hope this legendary heritage from the Maritime Silk Road can once again reconnect with China and inspire a new generation of cultural and artistic practitioners.
