I started working to make a living at the age of 17. I had to and I became a never resting work machine 🤯
I kept pulling through school and university and I was successful at this. Which made me want to work even more 😅
I am not gonna lie: This way of keeping myself busy actually enabled me to get ahead and reach goals etc. - but did I feel happy and fulfilled? Not exactly.
So when my husband asked me one day what I would do if I already had all the money in the world, I said „I would open my own jewelry shop“ 💍👑
And so I did. I actually followed my deepest desire and dream to make a business out of my passion. And that‘s exactly what made the customers at Mint Sparrow in Malta fall in love with the shop and the jewelry - I never did it for the money but because I LOVE doing it 💗
Jewelry is all about looking sparkly and beautiful, but in the end it‘s not so much about the looks of it but the energy behind it ✨

The Mint Sparrow Shop in Malta was my baby🤱 It was born out of love and passion and running it was a 24/7 job because I always wanted only the best of the best things to be sold there and for everyone to feel comfortable in the shop - and I loved it so much! 💗
Now when I got pregnant with a HUMAN baby after a few years, I knew that my relationship with the shop would have to change in about nine months 🤰 There would be an actual baby needing my attention and love.
To be honest: even after giving birth I still wasn’t able to let go fully of the shop - I had great employees who took care of it but I still ended up doing stuff here and there 💁‍♀️🤪
It was only when my family and I finally decided to leave Malta for good that I really said good bye 👋 But even then it was still part of me especially because even though the shop had now been run by someone else, I still was the owner and it kept its original name PLUS my handmade jewelry was still being sold there 💍🐦
So even though I already got pretty detached from my shop baby over the past two years, I felt very very sad when it did not survive the Covid crisis 😢 and had to close its doors for good just three months ago in September.
The main thing I remember looking back now is all the happy faces and lovely conversations I had with my customers at Mint Sparrow 🧒🏻👩🏼‍🦱👩‍🦳👩🏿‍🦰🧑🏼‍🦳 People from all continents with all kinds of stories to tell came to my shop.
They didn’t love the necklaces and bracelets only because they are pretty - they often told me they just loved everything behind it and how much I loved what I did 💋💃

Making jewelry with my own hands has always been my passion.
💍
In fact, I used to be so obsessed with it that no matter where I was - even on the honeymoon trip with my husband - I couldn’t stop looking for unique and extraordinary materials and gem stones to take home with me and design the next jewelry collection with them 🙈

So when I opened my very first own vintage shop in Malta years ago where I also sold my jewelry and people loved it so much, I couldn’t have been happier 💃
And even though I hadn‘t been working in the shop for two years anymore now, it still makes me sad that it had to close for good due to the Covid crisis just recently 😢 on the other hand, I am super grateful for this chapter of my life and all the happiness it brought to the people around me and my customers 🙏🏻✨
