As 2025 comes to a close, I find myself deeply grateful.
Grateful for the experiences that shaped me, the opportunities that trusted my hands, and the friendships that found their way into my life.

This year was not only about what was created, but about what was shared, learned, and felt along the way. Every filigree piece crafted carried its own story — a quiet dialogue between hands, heart, and tradition.

Thank you to everyone who believed, supported, commissioned, visited, listened, and inspired. Your trust and presence gave meaning to every wire bent and every moment spent at the bench.

With a full heart, I now look ahead to 2026 — to new ideas, fresh challenges, and stories yet to be crafted. May it be a year of courage, beauty, and meaningful creation ✨

Inspired by the graceful form of the Japanese sensu (folding fan), this set was handcrafted in sterling silver filigree, adorned with emerald gemstones.

Pearls whisper of the sea’s timeless grace.
Blue stones echo fragments of the heavens.

I’m honoured to have been selected for the second time to take part in DesignMT – a celebration of local creativity and design.

This year, I’ll be exhibiting my Fabergé-style egg, a piece where filigree craftsmanship meets contemporary vision. 🥚✨

From my workbench to your hands — thank you for another season of support, love, and appreciation for the art of filigree.

Filigree Art by Mark Borg will be taking a short summer break from July 10th to July 18th as we recharge and soak up some Mediterranean inspiration. ☀️🌊

🦎 A Maltese Gecko in its natural habitat
A commissioned piece, handcrafted in sterling silver using a mix of traditional and contemporary filigree techniques. Every curl and pattern was shaped with care, bringing this little creature to life with intricate detail and texture.

An Honour Beyond Words

I had the beautiful opportunity to speak during the opening of an exhibition hosted by the China Cultural Centre in Malta , dedicated to the incredible tradition of Chinese filigree. It was an honour to stand among such inspiring craftsmanship and to meet the curators and directors from the Fine Art Institute who strive every day to preserve and celebrate this ancient art form.

The exhibition is a breathtaking showcase of both traditional and contemporary filigree pieces made from gold, silver, and gold-plated copper—some delicately adorned with beautiful stones. Every piece reflects the passion, precision, and deep cultural heritage that define Chinese filigree.

I highly encourage everyone with an appreciation for fine craftsmanship, history, or beauty to visit. It’s a powerful reminder of how timeless skills can still speak so strongly in our modern world.

Thank you to the organisers for this unforgettable experience and for the warm welcome. It is truly inspiring to see how deeply this craft is respected and kept alive.
