It is over a century ago that the Wapitchi family started building up its business reputation in the GemstoneTrading. Marikkar is at the origin of the family’s history: in the mid 1860’s he established a diamond and precious stone trading in Sri Lanka. After Marikkar’s death in end 1890’s, his son Abdul Raheem took over the business. Today the third generation of Abdul Raheem proudly says:
