Sally Dudmesh spent her childhood roaming the globe, from Pakistan where she was born, to Singapore and Mauritius with her parents. She made her first necklace at the age of thirteen, inspired by the bead markets of Accra in Ghana. Taught by the silversmiths in Cairo, she learned the skills to fashion her own inimitable style, mixing the influences of Arabia, Asia and Africa. She has spent the las
t thirty years travelling to remote corners of the world as an anthropologist. Her collections are influenced by her studies of Roman, Etruscan and Ancient Egyptian jewellery and the inspiration she derives from the worldwide significance placed in amulets.
