We are delighted to share some exceptional news ✨
A strand of rare Japanese Akoya pearls has just arrived—featuring natural blue hues and an extraordinary size reaching 10mm, widely considered the upper limit for Akoya pearls.
In recent years, Akoya pearl production has faced ongoing challenges due to the weakening of oyster health. To reduce the risk of mortality, pearl farmers have avoided using larger nuclei, which place greater strain on the oysters. As a result, pearls of this size have become increasingly scarce. Akoya pearls rarely reach 10mm, and those exceeding this size are now difficult to find.
Equally rare is the natural blue coloration, which occurs purely by chance. Fine blue Akoya pearls are among the most elusive treasures in the world of pearls.
The combination of these two qualities—size and color—makes blue Akoya pearls over 10mm truly extraordinary ✨
From these blue Akoya pearls, we have created a 10–10.5mm necklace and a matching bracelet. We are also pleased to present two pairs of pearls measuring over 10mm, as well as a stunning single pearl measuring an impressive 11mm.
Thank you.
