The PROGOL3D DfAM Contest 2026 has officially come to an end. ✨

The 10th edition brought together students, schools, and industry partners from around the world to explore Design for Additive Manufacturing applied to contemporary jewellery.

Through the theme “Free Volume – Pomellato Earrings in the Additive Era”, young designers combined creativity, technical awareness, and manufacturability using precious metals Additive Manufacturing.

A heartfelt thank you to all students, schools, partners, and jurors who made this milestone edition possible.
The future of jewellery design is already taking shape. 💎

Traditionally, platinum casting is commonly associated with the use of centrifugal machines. This method ensures good mould filling but also puts pressure on both the metal and the investment, which can compromise the final aesthetic result.

What are the risks?
• Porosity caused by turbulence due to excessive speed of the molten metal
• Investment inclusions due to the high force with which the metal enters the flask
• Surface porosity caused by decomposition of the investment, triggered by the high pressure (speed) and temperature of the metal

The development of innovative alloys, combined with improvements in casting technologies that allow for better process control, has made it possible to overcome these long-standing issues.
What makes PLATINA103, our ready-to-use platinum alloy, different?
✅A lower liquidus temperature (around 200 °C lower than conventional alloys), reducing stress on the mould
✅High hardness, from 180HV after casting to around 250HV after heat treatment, resulting in strong, long-lasting jewellery
✅Excellent mould filling – even, consistent results, including in fine details, thanks to the alloy’s high fluidity
