The first “eli” in “elieli gioielli” comes from the artist’s Italian soul, and her respect for nature, her artistic vision and craft, the colors of the frescos, and the smell of cotton and wood of her parents’ and gradparents’ households. The second “eli” represents

the Turkish spirit of the artist, which is nourished with the Middle Eastern and Eastern Mediterranean scents of ancient streets, the diversity of faces, expressions and languages, and the color of the bazaars. The modern and energetic magnetism of this simultaneously ancient and nubile city called Istanbul inspires the “Turkish eli”.
