It’s called a spring shank! This vintage mechanism allows the ring to open slightly over the knuckle and then sit more securely on the finger. It was often used for people whose knuckles were larger than the base of their finger.

One of my favorite examples of jewelry solving a real-life problem!😇

Happy 2 years to VONA! 🥳🎈🎂

Sometimes it feels like these two years passed in a second, and sometimes it feels like I’ve lived ten different lives since starting this brand.

I wanted to share a few thoughts and realizations that stayed with me through these years. While VONA was growing, I was growing with it too❤️

They’re called sizing beads! We usually add them when someone has larger knuckles or when a ring tends to spin on the finger.

Instead of sizing the whole ring tighter and making it uncomfortable to put on or remove, these little gold beads help keep the ring upright while still fitting comfortably😇

This ring was created as an anniversary gift, featuring a 3.5 ct pink lab-grown diamond set in white gold ✨ One of my favorite things about bespoke pieces is how every detail ends up being considered, even the ones you barely notice🩷
