Sometimes I feel like I’ve used up all of my creativity and then sometimes I make something like this that reminds me that I still have some left after all! I’m really excited about how this one turned out. It feels like opening a whole new path of curiosity!

Large floral statement brooch made in polymer clay using a few tricks I’ve learned along the way. Silver and pink for a wintery vibe. Definitely ready for a special event or a fabulous holiday party!

Well hello there! I’ve been going through photos and realize how much I haven’t shared. While I’m always busy working in my studio I don’t always remember to post.

I’ve also been feeling a shift recently in many different ways. My work is starting to go in a different direction and I’ve decided to allow myself the freedom to just create. Business this year has been incredibly slow but I’m trying not to worry. In the past this would have been an intense source of anxiety for me but all that does is strip creativity away. I found myself caught in an endless loop of trying to figure out what people wanted to buy and trying to come up with things that would make for quick easy sales. But then I realized that doesn’t work either because I’m not creating from my heart.

This piece is me simply being me. It’s wild and crazy, and colorful and it’s really big but that’s exactly what I want my work to be. For me, being bold and adventurous is what makes life worth living, especially right now when there is so much uncertainty around us. This is my contribution to hopefully making the world a better place. I hope you enjoy it too!

Made with polymer clay, acrylic paint, glass powder, pigment powder. Silkscreen, glass powder, and pigment powder by and . Also cured on their metal bowls and glass domes. All the cut work is hand drawn and cut templates are designs by me.

Take a walk on the wild side. I’ve been playing with size, pattern and technique with my flowers recently, making them a little less romantic and a little more funkadelic. Because why not? They’re big, and colorful and unapologetic and lots of fun.

This past weekend I was invited to teach a weekend long workshop in Turin. Over my many years of working in polymer clay, I have taught some simple, basic workshops for beginners but this was my first time teaching already experienced artists, some of who already have thriving practices of their own. To me that’s a big honor that they would want to learn from me.

And not only that but I had participants who came all the way from the USA and Slovakia to join us. The group also included many wonderful Italian women who are passionate about polymer, including the one who put it all together. I am so grateful for the very kind and generous .montanaro and her husband Federico for making it all happen. It may seem like a little thing to some but it is definitely an important step for me. My hope is that this will be the first of many more traveling workshops to come!

In addition to all of this we had a lovely surprise visit from of who also supplied us with some goodies from her line of polymer clay tools to try out. AND she took all these amazing photos for us too!

A very big thank you is also in order for my amazing hubby who not only has been by my side every step of the way but who is always ready to help in anyway I need him. You rock babe! ❤️

So much fun all around. It was exactly the perfect way to begin Springtime! Doesn’t get much better than this!

Spring is starting to tease us around here! I’m seeing little bursts of green on the trees and it reminded me of this piece I made a couple years ago. I often like to look back on photos of old work to see if there is anything I would like to revise or recreate. Sometimes it’s also to remind myself HOW I made something. I tend to work very spontaneously and in the moment so I don’t always remember the steps I took to get there. It’s always wonderful to if I would approach the work the same way now. Sometimes yes, other times no. I think I would make a couple of changes to this piece but overall, I’m still happy with the results.
