Ci sono desideri che meritano di diventare realtà, perché custodiscono un amore profondo per la bellezza e per la propria città.
Scuola del Cuoio ha voluto rendere omaggio a Tommaso Melani dando forma concreta a un desiderio che gli stava particolarmente a cuore: preservare e tramandare il patrimonio artistico fiorentino.
È nato così un progetto di cura e restituzione, coordinato da .balzano_ , in collaborazione con il Comune di Firenze, che ha interessato il restauro delle Fonti dei Leoni e del Cortile della Dogana di Palazzo Vecchio.
Sessanta giorni di lavoro, dedizione e sapienza restauratrice sono bastati per restituire a queste magnifiche opere la loro originaria bellezza, riportandole a risplendere nel cuore di Firenze.
Oggi, in questa bellezza ritrovata, vive qualcosa che va oltre il restauro: il valore di una visione, la forza di un desiderio e la traccia indelebile di chi ha saputo riconoscere nell’arte un patrimonio da proteggere e consegnare al futuro.

Some wishes deserve to become reality, because they embody a deep love for beauty and for one’s own city.
Scuola del Cuoio has chosen to pay tribute to Tommaso Melani by bringing to life a wish that was especially close to his heart: to preserve and pass on Florence’s artistic heritage.
Thus began a project of care and restoration, coordinated by .balzano_ , in collaboration with the Municipality of Florence, involving the restoration of the Lions’ Fountains and Cortile della Dogana at Palazzo Vecchio.
Sixty days of work, dedication and restoration expertise were all it took to restore these magnificent works to their former beauty, allowing them to shine once again in the heart of Florence.
Today, within this rediscovered beauty, something lives on that goes beyond restoration: the value of a vision, the strength of a wish, and the indelible mark of someone who understood that art is a heritage to be protected and passed on to future generations.
