Monturve is an Italian artisan project born from the visceral passion for motoring, combined with the profound passion for mechanical watchmaking. It all started from a small village in Abruzzo at the foot of Monte Velino, where the landscapes and the beautiful surrounding streets acted as a muse for the project, which after so much time and sacrifice came to life on 1° October 2022, tha

nks above all to the collaboration with expert Italian watchmakers, who have trusted us and support us in the creation of our watches. This has been the philosophy of its founder Alessandro Antonelli from the beginning, who after having covered thousands of kilometers on the most beautiful mountain passes in our area, just for the pleasure of driving, decides to transmit it through watches with a soul and a personality that would complete that beautiful picture that is painted between one curve and another. Hence the birth of the name, which represents the union of the words mountain (MONT) and curves (URVE). THE PROFOUND CONCEPT

Monturve watches go beyond the simple "timepiece" because they want to be a way to express the journey and personality of those who wear it curve after curve (OUR LIFE), letting themselves be inspired by their passions. Today we are increasingly losing the value of our time. Our mission is to create high quality watches inspired by the passion for motoring and which contain time understood as value and not as a simple number.

🇮🇹 : In queste immagini vi mostriamo alcune fasi della realizzazione della lunetta del nostro nuovo orologio, anch’essa fresata dal pieno.

Quella che vedete è la sua forma grezza: le superfici verranno successivamente rifinite e lucidate a mano, e presto vi porteremo dentro l’intero processo passo dopo passo.

Per il design ci siamo ispirati alla cornice di un tachimetro automobilistico molto particolare… ma il modello esatto dell’auto ve lo sveleremo più avanti.

🇬🇧 : In these images, we show you some of the stages involved in creating the bezel of our new watch, which is also milled from a solid block of steel.

What you see here is its raw form: the surfaces will subsequently be finished and polished by hand, and we will soon take you through the entire process step by step.

For the design, we were inspired by the frame of a very special car speedometer... but we will reveal the exact model of the car later on.

🇮🇹 : La realizzazione del nostro nuovo orologio prosegue con lo sviluppo del fondello.

Lo abbiamo progettato per inserirsi all’interno della cassa, diventando così un tutt’uno con essa.

Questa scelta ci permette di contenere lo spessore finale dell’orologio e, allo stesso tempo, di creare una continuità geometrica con la curvatura del retro.

La sezione circolare interna ospiterà un vetro zaffiro, che consentirà di ammirare il movimento — o, come preferiamo definirlo noi, il motore.

🇬🇧 : The creation of our new watch continues with the development of the case back.

We designed it to fit inside the case, thus becoming one with it.

This choice allows us to limit the final thickness of the watch and, at the same time, create geometric continuity with the curvature of the back.

The circular inner section will house a sapphire crystal, allowing the movement — or, as we prefer to call it, the engine — to be admired.

🇮🇹 : Il prototipo inizia a prendere forma. In questa fase testiamo l’interno della cassa, concentrandoci sulle sedi per il fissaggio della lunetta.

Quattro fori passanti dal diametro di appena 1,2 mm ospiteranno le viti che la bloccheranno in posizione.

Una soluzione che permette un fissaggio a scomparsa, preservando così il design della lunetta, che vi mostreremo più avanti.

Ogni prova è assolutamente necessaria per controllare le tolleranze dell’orologio e perfezionarle, prima di proseguire con le lavorazioni successive.

🇬🇧 : The prototype begins to take shape. At this stage, we test the inside of the case, focusing on the seats for fixing the bezel.

Four through holes with a diameter of just 1.2 mm will house the screws that will lock it in place.

This solution allows for concealed fixing, thus preserving the design of the bezel, which we will show you later.

Each test is absolutely necessary to check the watch’s tolerances and perfect them before moving on to the next steps.

🇮🇹 : Il processo iniziale di sgrossatura: una lavorazione meccanica che ci permette di ottenere la prima sagoma della cassa, ricavata da un blocco pieno di acciaio inox 316L.

Un materiale molto duro, che non ammette errori e richiede parametri di lavorazione perfettamente bilanciati per rispettare le tolleranze progettuali dell’orologio.

🇬🇧 : The initial roughing process: a mechanical operation that allows us to obtain the initial shape of the case, carved out of a solid block of 316L stainless steel.

This is a very hard material that does not allow for errors and requires perfectly balanced machining parameters in order to comply with the watch’s design tolerances.

🇮🇹 : Un blocco grezzo di acciaio davanti a noi e centinaia di tentativi, provando a trasformarlo in qualcosa di unico.

Abbiamo dedicato un anno intero a disegnare, progettare, costruire e rifinire in totale autonomia ogni singola parte — cassa, lunetta, fondello, corona, fibbia, quadrante e lancette — fino a trasformare l’idea in componenti reali e tangibili.

Quello che abbiamo raggiunto oggi è solo il punto di partenza per realizzare il nostro nuovo orologio.

Nei prossimi mesi ti mostreremo il dietro le quinte: dai primi test al prototipo, fino al momento in cui presenteremo il modello definitivo.

Un segnatempo unico nel suo genere, dedicato a tutti quei e collezionisti che amano il mondo delle quattro ruote.

We spent an entire year designing, planning, building and refining every single part — case, bezel, caseback, crown, buckle, dial and hands — in complete autonomy, until we transformed the idea into real, tangible components.

What we have achieved today is only the starting point for creating our new watch.

Over the coming months, we will show you behind the scenes: from the first tests to the prototype, right up to the moment we present the final model.
