Do we really need another concrete structure in the name of Chillikomban? / ഇനിയും ഒരു കോൺക്രീറ്റ് സ്മാരകം വേണോ?, ചില്ലിക്കൊമ്പന്റെ പേരിൽ

If we truly respect Sahyaputhran Chillikomban, the real tribute is not a concrete memorial. The real tribute is protecting forests, elephant corridors, water sources, and reducing human-wildlife conflict.

Otherwise, this will become the usual story: tender, commission, inauguration, photo session - and after one year, the place will be abandoned, broken, full of weeds and finally used as a waste dumping spot.

Palakkad does not need more concrete jungles in the name of emotion. We need living forests, not dead monuments.

A memorial for an elephant should help elephants live better. Anything else is just public money going into private pockets.
