Kundan Jewellery:
Kundan is a traditional form of Indian gemstone jewellery involving a gem set with a gold foil between the stones and its mount, usually for elaborate necklaces originated in the royal courts of Rajasthan and Gujarat. It is one of the older forms of jewellery made and born in India. the word kundan means highly refined gold.
Jadau Jewellery:
Jadau work was introduced in India by the Mughals, but practiced and perfected by the skilled craftsman of Rajasthan. It is essentially a technique of jewellery-making wherein precious gemstones such as uncut diamonds, pearls, emeralds, rubies and navaratnas are embedded into gold. Gold is actually turned into a frame, filling wax on which precious stones are studded without the use of any adhesive. Jadau derives its name from the colloquial term ‘jad’ (which means to embed).
Meenakari Jewellery:
The art of decorating with enameling known as Meenakari was introduced by Mughals in India.
Gold is used as a base for meenakari. Jaipur is the main center for meenakari. Traditional colors like red, green, pink, blue and white, dominate the art of enamellings from Jaipur. Nathdwara, Bikaner and Udaipur are also famous for their meenakari.
