Some journeys aren’t created on a mood board. They begin much earlier.♥️

This one began where I was born — in the narrow lanes of Azamgarh, surrounded by stories, family, people, and crafts that quietly became a part of who I am. It then took me to Jaipur, a city that shaped my perspective as a designer and taught me to see craft in a completely different way.

For months, I travelled between these two worlds, meeting artisans, listening to stories that rarely get heard, revisiting memories, questioning my own journey, and discovering why I started KABBISH in the first place.

There were 4 a.m. shoot days, endless train journeys, unexpected challenges, emotional conversations, and countless moments that never made it to social media. But every single moment found its place in this Story.

This isn’t just a story about jewellery brand,
It’s about identity.
It’s about home.
It’s about the people whose hands create beauty every single day.
And it’s about finding your way back to your roots, no matter how far life takes you.

If this story makes you pause, smile, remember, or look at handmade craft with a little more love, then we’ve done what we set out to do.

“Matka pehnega kaun?”

That was the first question everyone asked me.

Honestly, I didn’t have the answer.

I just knew one thing...

If a simple clay pot could carry centuries of stories, then maybe it deserved to be worn too.

What started as a college project slowly became my life’s purpose.

There were days when people laughed at the idea.
Days when I questioned myself.
Days when one order, one exhibition, one opportunity felt like a miracle.

But every time I visited the artisans...
Every time I held a piece of Black Pottery in my hands...
I knew I couldn’t stop.

Because KABBISH was never just about jewellery.

It was about proving that a craft isn’t old.
It isn’t outdated.
It just needs someone willing to tell its story differently.

One exhibition became many.
A small design project became an award.
The same jewellery reached Lakmé Fashion Week.
Found a place in magazines.
Made it to newspapers.
Reached classrooms where students wanted to hear this journey.
Led to conversations on national policy platforms.
Represented India on international stages.
And somewhere along the way...
I was fortunate enough to be recognised by Forbes Under 30 Asia.

But if you ask me what the biggest achievement is...

It isn’t the awards.
It isn’t the headlines.
It isn’t the recognition.

It’s seeing people who once asked,
”Matka pehnega kaun?”

now asking,

“Where can I buy one?”

This carousel isn’t to celebrate success.

It’s to celebrate every artisan who trusted me.
Every customer who believed in an unusual idea.
Every mentor, friend, family member, and supporter who stood beside KABBISH when it was just a dream.

And this...
is only a small part of the journey.

I never thought my hometown would one day become the backdrop of my dreams!♥️
This is a little BTS from our Azamgarh shoot. ❤️

I never imagined that one day I’d be walking through the same lanes where I was born and brought up—not for a morning stroll, but with a camera, planning shots and telling a story.

I was a little nervous filming in my hometown. It felt strange at first, with people stopping to watch and wondering what we were doing. But soon, those familiar streets made everything feel effortless.

And then there was Nizamabad, Every moment spent with the artisans felt like coming back to family. Their warmth, kindness, and quiet dedication reminded me why these stories deserve to be told.

This wasn’t just a shoot.
It felt like coming home—with a new purpose.

She had no idea!
The little girl in this photo — with her school bag, her white socks, and the whole world ahead of her — had absolutely no idea what was coming.
No idea about the clay, the wheel, the craft that would become her life’s work. No idea about Kabbish, about Forbes, about a documentary, about a brand that would carry the story of her hometown to the world.
But she showed up every single day. Curious. Determined. Dreaming.
And I think about her often — especially on the days when things get hard. Because she didn’t quit before any of it even began.

She carried the dream.
I built it.
Together we keep going. ♥️

Behind every final film is a story nobody gets to see. This is ours!
Early mornings, unexpected rain, cup of chai, jewellery packed and unpacked, cameras rolling, and a hundred little moments that nobody will ever see in the final cut.

As a founder, you’re usually busy building, solving, and moving to the next thing. You rarely stop and look at how far the journey has come.

This shoot made me do exactly that.

To see Kabbish through a different lens. To watch an idea that once lived in my notebook become something real. To witness the people, details, and stories that quietly shape everything we create.

What we captured isn’t just jewellery.♥️

It’s a feeling.
It’s a journey.
And it’s a piece of my heart.

Before it becomes jewellery, it begins here.♥️

With clay-covered hands. A spinning wheel. The quiet rhythm of a craft passed down through generations.

This is Azamgarh — India’s GI-tagged Black Pottery district. But for me, it is more than that. It is home.

Returning here with a camera and a small team to document the very craft that shaped Kabbish felt deeply emotional. Every piece we create begins in spaces like these. In the hands of artisans who have dedicated their lives to keeping this tradition alive.

For years, I have carried Azamgarh with me through Kabbish. This documentary brought me back to where it all started — not as a visitor, but as someone coming home.

Watching the artisans work, walking through familiar lanes, and seeing the craft through a new lens reminded me why this journey began in the first place.

This wasn’t just a shoot. It was a return to my roots.

MATKA: Stories of Living Traditions
The matka — the humble earthen pot has always lived quietly among us. It quenches thirst, stores
life, and breathes with the rhythm of every Indian household. Yet, in its simplicity lies a timeless
design language — of balance, curve, and continuity.
The matka is more than an object — it is a vessel of memory, rhythm, and life.
Through Matka: Stories of Living Traditions, Kabbish celebrates the enduring bond between clay,
craft, and community.
This installation draws from seven inspirations of everyday living — Pyau, Sikhar, Ghirni, Handi,
Doghad, Kalash, and Mathni — each narrating a story of utility, nurture, and cultural continuity.
Rooted in the earthy language of terracotta, the space recreates a rural courtyard — where clay
breathes, hands remember, and traditions flow.
Every element is crafted using upcycled and natural materials — old wood, jute, discarded pottery,
corrugated cardboard, and fragments of forgotten homes — echoing Kabbish’s belief that craft is
never static; it is revived through mindful making.
