Holi is a magnificent expression of royal heritage and spiritual tradition. The celebrations begin with Holika Dahan, symbolising the triumph of good over evil. On this sacred evening, His Highness Padmanabh Singh performs the traditional puja and havan, continuing a centuries-old Rajput custom that connects the present to Jaipur’s regal past.
As Vedic chants fill the palace courtyards, the Maharaja ceremonially lights the Holika pyre.
The rising flames signify purification, renewal, and divine protection. As the sacred fire is lit, devotees carry the blessed flame to their neighbourhood Holika Dahan ceremonies, symbolically linking the royal ritual with homes across the city and reinforcing a shared spiritual bond that unites Jaipur in faith and tradition. On this auspicious occasion, women and men adorn themselves in vibrant traditional Phaguniya attire, adding colour, elegance, and festive splendour to the sacred celebration.
