It all started when a customer showed me a picture of her beloved cat and asked if I could create something for her. 🐾🥹
I said yes; not fully knowing what I was getting myself into. 😅
I sat down with a blank ring and a pencil ✏️. Drew the first sketch. Didn't like it. Erased it. Drew another. Still not right. The eyes weren't soft enough. The ears weren't quite hers. I erased again.
And again. 🔄
There's something about working on a ring that humbles you 🙏 . The surface is so small, but what it needs to hold is so large. This wasn't just a design. It was someone's companion. Someone's family 💛. I couldn't afford to get it wrong.
So I kept going ✏️. Sketch after sketch, line after line, erasing and starting over more times than I can count 😤. My hands knew what I was after even when my eyes weren't sure yet.
And then, it appeared. ✨

The tilt of the head. The softness of the eyes 🐱. The way that particular cat must have looked when she was simply being herself. 🤍
I put the pencil down and just looked at it for a moment. 😮‍💨
That was the first one. 🐾💍

Since that day, I've engraved dogs 🐶, cats 🐱, rabbits 🐰, birds 🦜 — every pet as unique as the person who loved them 💞. Each ring still gets the same treatment — sketch, erase, sketch again — until it doesn't just look right. It feels right. ✨
