XL PRO ORGANIZER
The brief was to design a 'small tools' organizer that could compete in volume with the Milwaukee organizer.

The existing Dewalt / Stanley organizer included a removable interior section with an integrated handle. One challenge was to re-design the box with an external handle that did not detract from the interior volume. A handle from the company's existing products was used.

Another important factor in the design was to differentiate the brand visual language from the old Fat Max, which was very well-known.​

The new lid design incorporated a number of practical and technical requirements, such as:

• Ability to keep the compartments in place when the lid is closed, even if not all the compartments are in.

• Blocking the passage of small parts between the compartments while carrying the organizer.

• Keep the organizer sealed.

• Ability to stack multiple organizers on top of each other.

As a result of the lid being significantly larger, structural reinforcement was required to keep the lid securely in place and to prevent small parts from moving between compartments.

The product was developed with the potential to be sold under different brands with different design DNA. The XL Pro Organizer was a huge success and is now sold worldwide under both the Craftsman and FatMax brands.

UNFINISHED

A series of light fixtures that examine the raw mechanisms and the direction of light. They play with the type of lighting source, lampshades and emphasize the texture of the wood fibers.

All of the light fixtures were entirely hand-crafted in my workshop, using oak wood, birch and rubber bands. They are easily adjustable and create a kind of personification and interaction with the operator, in a fun and playful way.

This project was an independent initiative, concurrent with my undergraduate studies. The product was created in cooperation with Ofer canafi, who was one of my lecturers. We worked together to develop, design and manufacture a thin and mobile light box called FLATLAMP.

At that time, there were no competing products in the market. Ofer and I worked together on the development, taking the technology used in outdoor signs to distribute the LED lighting uniformly on the surface.

During the project I was exposed to many technologies as well as to the broader aspects of production such as: transportation, marketing and sales, development costs, advertising, business management and working with government, institutional and private clients.

After the development, I went on to manage the business and sold hundreds of units over a period of six years.

FLATLAMP become the most-known brand in the industry within the Israeli market. FLATLAMP is available in 2 sizes: A3 and A4 and includes a 3m cable with switch, adapter, delivery box and 1 years' warranty.

SALT TEASPOON

A personal project combining a teaspoon with a salt shaker, which allows you to control the amount of salt you are using by taking a measured dose. The salt is inserted into the spoon end and travels through the hollow handle to be sprinkled out of holes at the other end.

The development involved constant experimentation with 2D design, 3D modelling and 3D printing, and refining the design in order to create the most effective mechanism for the flow of salt; a smooth transition of the salt from the spoon to the handle but without allowing the salt to escape back to the spoon during the process. The spoon would be manufactured using silver casting technology.

DEWALT COOLER
The brief was to design and manufacture a cooler for construction sites – a first for Stanley Israel.

In order to minimize resources, we decided to adapt the body of an existing toolbox into the new cooler body, using the same exterior mold. The design challenge was to change the perception of the existing container, from the world of toolboxes to the world of kitchen and hiking, by designing only the internal liners and the lid.

The existing body mold and lid were injected with yellow pigment instead of black, with a white strip across the join. The white interior creates a clean appearance, with round lines that are easy to clean. These design features distinguish the cooler from the rest of the company's toolboxes.

The seal is manufactured using extrusion technology and therefore has a higher level of insulation and sealing commonly seen in refrigerator products. The process included a resistance test against grizzly bears at a bear farm in the United States. The new cooler design has the ability to keep ice frozen for five days thanks to the significant insulation thickness.

Constructions workers have the ability to stack the cooler along with their toolboxes to conveniently transport them from the pick-up truck to the work site.

The cooler competes with high-end products from the world's largest competitors in a completely new industry for Stanley Israel.
