My name is Ori Ungar and I am the owner of the Ungar metal art studio in Haifa, Israel. The Ungar jewelers family, were well known in Hungary and Czechoslovakia at the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century. I was born in 1970 in Haifa, Israel, a son of two immigrants from Czechoslovakia, who left Europe after the second world war in search of a better life. It was only at an older
age, after I have studied and practiced jewelry making for many years, that I learned of my family's past in this business from a relative I had met accidentally online. I have been making jewelry professionally for the last ten years, not neglecting my second great love - music. Playing guitar and making music with other musicians, is a very important part of my life and gives me great inspiration. The renewing old city of Haifa is a beautiful place, and after 15 years of living and creating in Tel aviv, I have decided to come back home with my wife and two kids and open a jewelry studio and a jewelry shop. The studio/shop is in the old Turkish market in downtown Haifa, surrounded by amazing architecture dating as back as the 18th century. It has become a home for artists and designers from all over the country.
