This is not a place for the introverted 😅 And yet, here we are, trying to run a small handmade business, because I couldn't resist the calling of the beads ☺️
Every reel and post I make feels exactly like this, going "psst... psst... look at this gorgeous stuff... but also please don't look at me too much" - especially now going to markets this weekend.
If you are a fellow maker, creator or introvert trying to show up in social media, this is for you:
Hello! You are doing amazing 👏 Showing up is scary, but you are putting your love, thought and energy in something important. Be proud of your handiwork. Not everyone can do it, even though sometimes it doesn't feel like it seeing the ginormous amount of other creators on social media.
But don't forget that the algorithm shows all these to you specifically because it deemed you an interested party (and of course, we all are interested in other creator's work). It's a bubble, and the people that are interested in your work are out there! JUST DON'T STOP SHOWING UP.
Also, learn from others who made it. The success of promoting a business has nothing to do with the quality of your work. You are crafting. You are creative. You are passionate. That's the best foundation one can ask for.
We might be shy, yes, but our work deserves to be in the spotlight 💯
Thank you for listening to my pep talk (now I should listen to my own advice).
