Look, I know a brooch usually carries heavy "parish council treasurer" energy, but this one is an absolute triumph.
​I’ve just added this total showstopper to the Pre-Loved Collection, and I am ridiculously obsessed with it. It’s solid sterling silver, measuring a massive 4.5cm across, and packed with sparkling marcasite and the most gorgeous lilac-pink amethyst crystals.
​Slap this onto the lapel of a winter coat or a slightly battered blazer, and suddenly you look like you’ve inherited a fortune from a fabulous, slightly scandalous aunt rather than just raiding a charity shop.

I went under the knife this week. 🔪
Before you panic — it wasn't cosmetic.
Well... technically it was plastic surgery, but I had it done for a very practical reason, and I explain all of that in this week's blog.
The slightly unexpected part was what happened afterwards.
Because when you voluntarily let someone near your face with a scalpel, you apparently have quite a lot of time to think about ageing, vanity, women, and why we're all so bloody obsessed with looking younger.
Which led me to one rather awkward question:
Are we all mad?
I've written about the whole experience in this week's blog. It's honest, it's a little bit funny, and there's probably more about my face in it than any of you strictly need to know.

Look, some ideas drift into your head like a gentle summer breeze. Others pop in like a mildly unhinged fever dream, and honestly, those are the ones I live for. I’m genuinely proud that my weird, wonderful brain managed to concoct this particular pair.

​Combining the iconic Irish Pride Big Toast wrapper with the TÁ Comhionannas vote badge? It’s a literal, unashamed Big Toast to Equality. Pun fully intended, zero apologies offered.

​There is just something satisfying about taking two completely separate bits of Irish culture, mixing them with a healthy dose of sparkle, and turning them into wearable joy. They tickle me every single time I look at them.

​Huge thanks to everyone who keeps coming back for more of my ridiculous handiwork—you allow my brain to keep operating at this specific frequency of chaos, and I couldn't be more grateful.

Right, how on earth did this happen?
​One minute you’re strapping a schoolbag larger than her entire torso onto a tiny creature wearing glitter high-tops, red leggings, and a dress that looked like a blue tent, and the next minute she’s casually strolling out the door to 6th Class looking full-on rock ‘n’ roll, completely unfazed by it all.
​Look at that transition. From toothy, slightly terrified excitement on day one of Junior Infants to absolute cool-girl authority entering final year primary school. I’m not sure whether I want to sob into my coffee or pour myself a massive gin. Probably both. Where do the years go, seriously?
​Eliza, stop growing up so quickly. My heart can’t cope, but I couldn’t be prouder of the brilliant, hilarious human you’ve become 💜💜💜
