In 2022, Thomas Dillon’s was honoured with a place on the Galway Poetry Trail — a project that celebrates the stories and places that shape the heart of our city.

The poem, “Claddagh Ring” by Nessa O’Mahony, was installed just outside our door. It tells the story of a Claddagh ring her father bought here for her mother — a ring she still wears to this day.

As the original makers of the Claddagh ring since 1750, it means the world to us to see our craft live on not only in hands and hearts across the world, but now in poetry too.

Next time you’re walking down Quay Street, stop by and read it. It’s a beautiful reminder of what the Claddagh stands for: love, loyalty, and friendship.

Look who made the paper!

Our very own Jonathan was featured in The Irish Times last month, chatting all things Claddagh and why this little Galway-made ring still means so much to people around the world.

From Hollywood red carpets to family heirlooms passed down through generations, the Claddagh ring continues to travel far while staying close to its roots — and Jonathan’s been here to see it all.

Pop into the shop and say hello if you’re nearby — he’s usually out front with a warm welcome and a story or two.

• Gents – a bit chunkier and solid
• 100 Year Claddagh – our original unisex design, made from a die that’s over a century old

All hand finished right here in Galway, with love, loyalty and friendship at the heart of every one.

Three Styles, One Tradition

The original Claddagh ring comes in three classic styles, each with the same meaning of love, loyalty, and friendship:

💛 Ladies’ Claddagh – A delicate and timeless design.
💛 Gents’ Claddagh – A bold, traditional style.
💛 100-Year Classic – A detailed recreation of a century-old ring.

Handcrafted in Galway since 1750, each ring is a piece of history. Which one is yours?
