I've taken a bit of a break from markets this year, but I couldn't possibly miss the wonderful Night and Day market at the wonderful The Courthouse Gallery & Studios, Ennistymon. This is my favourite market, it's alway such a lovely few days having the chats with people from all over north Clare, and beyond. I love to see people returning, year after year, sometimes even wearing a piece of my jewellery 🙂

It's also a great chance to catch up with all of my maker/craft pals, and for a relatively small market there really is a fantastic selection of beautiful crafts on offer. Raquel will be there with her beautiful handmade soaps The Moher Soap Co., Hanne will have her photos, and her notebooks, you're going to love the notebooks, they're fab! Hanne T. Fisker Photography. Emma will be there with her amazing illustrations of familiar pubs from all around the county Emma Doyle Art, Joan will have her super cool handbags Woven Motion, and Emily Dillon will be selling her very stylish mugs, I'm still getting so much joy drinking from the mug I bought from her last Christmas.
The market runs from 2-9 on Friday, and 10-6 on Saturday. And for those of you who can't make it, there is still plenty of time to order online in time for Christmas. Website link is in bio, as usual

I’m delighted to be taking part in Design & Crafts Council Ireland campaign today. Search the made local hashtag to find an amazing array of makers across the island of Ireland.

Pictured here are my Mara earrings, made with interlocking segments of yew wood, in its natural colour or ebonised black, polished with beeswax, and finished with sterling silver findings. Made Local by me in my studio in Ennistymon. These will be available at the The Courthouse Gallery & Studios, Ennistymon on Friday and Saturday this coming weekend, or online through my website https://www.rowenasheen.com/

It's that time of year again!
I'm busy beavering away here in my studio getting lots of lovely things made. I've just added lots of new pieces to my website but but for those of you who like to see things in real life, hold them, look in the mirror etc., here is a list of the markets I will be attending over the next few weeks, starting with my favourite , followed by the wonderful and finally I'll be at the week before Christmas. See you there!

I had so much fun figuring out how to make these guys. Each of the segments are made from locally sourced natural yew wood. They are separate but interlocking, and when combined with the sterling silver box chain, they have lovely movement when you wear them. As with all of my jewellery, they are super lightweight too, so they are really comfortable to wear.

Shop update is finally live!

These Reid earrings are some of my favourites but there are loads of new pieces, feel free to take a look!
Understated and elegant, I’ve used my trademark native Irish yew wood, both natural and ebonised, painstakingly inlaid with tiny pieces of sterling silver, and as always, polished with Burren wildflower beeswax. And they are practically weightless, at just the 0.8g each!

These ebonised Yew wood studs, inlaid with sterling silver, and plenty of others, will finally be making it onto my website tomorrow evening!

I know a few of you have been asking about them as I've been making these for a while now but I seem to have a mental block on photographing and uploading my new work - it's so much more straightforward to just bring them to a market! So if you've been waiting, they will be available from tomorrow! Or come visit me at one of my Christmas markets if you prefer to see things in person.

I'm delighted to be able to share that I'll be heading back to the Phoenix Park for Bord Bia Bloom over the June bank holiday weekend. Thanks to Design & Crafts Council Ireland for the opportunity to participate in this wonderful event again. Looking forward to seeing plenty of familiar faces, and praying for a repeat of last years spectacular weather!
Now to get busy making!!

Thanks to Cyndi for the photo, snapped in the sunshine last year 😊

There's a lot going on here in the studio today, and top of my list is to share more here on Facebook. Somehow it always manages to slip right down to the bottom of the list...

Tasks for the day:
1. Post on Facebook/Instagram
2. Pack and post orders
3. Order silver
4. Apply for Bloom!
5. Finish Tetris earrings
6. Make some final adjustments to the samples for my new collection.

I've packed your orders from the weekend and will be going to the post office shortly.

I've placed my first silver order of the year and am a little in shock! One of the small minor (not even visible!) components I use regularly has risen from €2.88 a few years ago to €7.06, per piece, a huge increase!

My Bloom application has been trickling through my brain over the weekend, I'll need to photograph some of my new work so that might end up moving to tomorrow's list.

This morning I put together my final batch of Tetris earrings, I'm planning to discontinue them once I have my new collection ready for the world, space needs to be made!

On that, I'm still tweaking, then I need to figure out my pricing, organise multiple photo sessions (product, lifestyle, catalogue) website update, wholesale catalogue and more... Sure I might have it ready for Christmas 😆🙈
But actually hoping for maybe a month or so.

And here I am posting on Facebook!
