Last night we had a brilliant time at the Westmeath local enterprise awards ceremony in the Bloomfield mullingar ! We were among 12 finalists from all different types of businesses . Massive congrats to the overall winners and runners up ! Well deserved ! We were delighted to come home with a lovely piece of genesis to mark making the final ! Thank you

Do you see the red neck collar on our cows? A little info for you......These collars are worn by all our milking cows. It displays their ear tag number so you can read it at quick glance but it also holds a unique transponder for each cow.
As we milk our cows robotically, this transponder is what sends a signal to our robots to inform them what cow has come in to be milked and then the robot knows what field to draft the cow to.
All that cows information is stored historically on our PC and new figures are updated at each milking. What information can we get from our robot? We can see the cow's weight, when she came for a successful milking last, when she came and failed milking, why she failed, how much milk she gave from each quarter, how long it took her to be milked fully, what her somatic cells are reading (indication of stress), what butterfat, protein and lactose are in her milk, her rumination rate and much more........AMAZING!!
