G-Shock品牌創立於1983年。
1980年，任職CASIO本社研發部門的總工程師Kikuo Ibe以夢想能創製出一款不易跌破損壞外殼的手錶，組成”Project Team Tough”研發擁有耐衝擊、防水及耐用的時計。用了三年多時間，不斷試驗、失敗、再嘗試後，終於在1983年成功製造出達成目標的時計，首枚G-Shock手錶成功誕生。
