06-18.02.2026 ~ Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games - Summary

Ski Association of Hong Kong, China’s (SAHK) attended the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, sending two athletes to compete in the alpine skiing competition. SAHK’s two representatives made up half of Team Hong Kong, China (HKG)’s largest ever winter Olympic delegation. SAHK is proud to have been a part of this historic achievement, especially as a region with a sub-tropical climate. This year’s achievement also marks SAHK’s third appearance at an Olympic Winter Games, highlighting the success of our elite development pathway. This year serves as our most successful olympic cycle yet, having had three athletes qualify for the games: Adrian YUNG, Eloise KING and Aerin KING. However, due to Olympic quota restrictions, only two athletes (one male, one female) per nation could be sent, therefore selection had to be made based on FIS (International Ski and Snowboard Federation) points.

Adrian YUNG made his second olympic appearance starting with a successful completion of his Giant Slalom races in 68th position on February 14th in Bormio, making him the youngest two-time winter olympian for Hong Kong, China. He then went on to compete in the Men’s Slalom competition on February 16th battling through adverse weather conditions. Eloise KING started her first ever olympic competition in the Women’s Slalom on February 18th in Cortina d'Ampezzo. She successfully completed the first run in 62nd place, however struggled with the conditions and injury on the second and final run. Chairman Edmond Yue was also in attendance in Milan as Team Leader to support this historic winter Olympic delegation for Hong Kong, China.

SAHK is incredibly proud of our athletes for their hard work and determination that led to them competing at the sport’s highest level, and hope that this achievement will inspire the next generation of winter sport athletes for Hong Kong, China. Finally, SAHK would like to thank the Hong Kong SAR Government, SF&OC, our coaching team, and the athlete’s families for their continued support in achieving this level of sporting excellence. Congratulations again to Eloise and Adrian on becoming Olympians!

29-31.12.2025 ~ 3rd Hong Kong National Ranking Championships 2025

The 3rd ever Hong Kong National Ranking Championships for Alpine Skiing was held during our Christmas Training in Asahikawa, Japan. Following some less than ideal snow conditions, the race had to be moved to Kokusetsu Horotachi Ski Area, just outside of Asahikawa. Despite our team's best efforts, only 1 day of races were possible due to unsafe weather conditions. The Hong Kong athletes competed amongst themselves in Slalom events, with racers in U10, U12, U14, U16 and FIS categories for both men & women. The competition week brought in over 80 participants including athletes, coaches, parents, and officials. SAHK would like to wholeheartedly thank everyone for their continued participation and support. Big congratulations to all the top finishers!

SAHK Christmas Training 2025 returned to Asahikawa, Japan from December 19th 2025 to January 3rd 2026. It was our 3rd year in a row training in this region of Hokkaido. Despite some fluctuating snow conditions, a successful training camp was held for over 80 participants over the winter holidays. Alongside the existing Hong Kong Ski & Snowboard team, new general assessment candidates were given the opportunity to try out for the SAHK Development Squad. For the first time ever, we held a freestyle snowboard general assessment training camp with 3 snowboarders accompanying our National Team Coach. We were very excited to see this new generation of alpine skiers and freestyle snowboarders continue to develop their skills and hopefully represent Hong Kong at the international stage in the future.
