I was molded into a model that was taught to model a model that does not exist. The model is perfect, forever young, impossibly attractive, educated, not too educated, independent yet co-dependent, a boss babe but not a bitch, entrepreneur, mother, wife, selfless, susie homemaker, a feminist but not too feminine and a listful of contradictory models that change with whatever is on the market at the moment.
If I am forever confused as to who I am supposed to be then who I really be, remains a mystery. But what I will for sure forever be is a customer. I will forever be a customer grasping for the next gadget that will finally get me to nowhere. And every time I arrive at nowhere, there will be a roomful of Barbies assuring me that my happy is waiting for me on the side of my next credit card swipe. I will forever buy, and scroll, and numb and dumb myself into the next fix, the next product, and the next distraction to keep me in the dark of my very own light.
Today, because of my journey of embodying the yamas and nyamas, I know that I am not some bu****it Barbie Doll in a box on a shelf that can be bought or sold, but I am Divine, of Goodness, and connected to a Source greater than me. And I believe that you are too.
