is the other sculptor at Stanmer Park who is a must see on the trail.

I’m not sure I can adequately explain what it felt like to touch this amazing piece ( first photo) - it is made of Portland stone and I stood for too long running my hands over it’s shape. I have to admit the sensation sat with me for the rest of the day- which says perhaps all you need to know.

said she works in all weathers on the site which is open to the elements and tucked around the back of the Earthship in the woodland.

Well worth a mooch in the woods to find.

Anyone in the Stanmer Park area this weekend or next needs to check out two exciting sculptors tucked behind as part of an sculpture trail.

I stumbled across and this afternoon and they are both too good to not shout about!

Here is a selection of Mark’s work.. made from a variety of marble and stone imported from Europe and Southern India.

Mark spent several years in Southern India learning his craft and still has a workshop over there. He also worked as a stonemason in Switzerland.

He has a varied selection of pieces on display.. all highly tactile and absolutely stunning.

His work is, unsurprisingly, in high demand and his larger pieces have ended up in some rather grand gardens!

I will post some photos of tomorrow- who had some really wonderful pieces that have left quite an impression. ( understatement! Can’t stop thinking about them! )

This is defo going to be worth checking out! AKA Loft55 will be there with his very cool clothing.
with his cooler than cool prints. The incredible ( Maxine) who is a brilliant maker of one off lights and our very own from .. and that’s just the bits I have heard about.

The utterly brilliant local illustrator has an exhibition of his work

If you have children under the age of 10 you will be familiar with his fabulous books.. ‘Bonkers About Beetles’
‘Mad About Monkeys’ and ‘Curious about Crocodiles’ to name but a few. He is a prolific children’s author and all his books are beautiful and educational.

He also has cards, T-shirts, puzzles and all sorts of other fab merchandise for sale. Perfect for Christmas presents!

Pop along and say hello. He’s a very interesting and super talented chap.

is a totally awesome, colourful and fun clothing company owned by local couple Ali and Jam.

They will be in town until the end of the week.. so pop in and fill ya boots! (Kids and adult clothing)

They also have a spin off company that upcycles clothes which is really cool.
