Customer Service Assistant : Full-time, Permanent | Royal Wootton Bassett | Β£25,350 to Β£26,325 per year

The Role
This is a newly created full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm, 37.5 hours per week.
As a Customer Service Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for many of our customers. You will handle telephone and email enquiries, respond to online order queries, and support the wider team with essential administration.
It is a varied role. Some days will be steady and structured, others busier than expected. You will need to be comfortable switching between customer conversations and detailed administrative tasks without losing accuracy.
For the right candidate, the role can develop over time, offering the opportunity to gain deeper knowledge of the precious metals and bullion industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Responding to customer enquiries via telephone and email
- Handling queries relating to online orders
- Providing general administrative support, including data entry
- Assisting with claims closure, processing and packaging returns
- Booking in customer parcels from postal services
- Filing documentation in line with GDPR requirements
- Supporting colleagues and maintaining a positive working environment
- Keeping the Director informed of any issues or concerns
- Providing wider team support as required
What We're Looking For
- Previous customer service experience, ideally within retail or a similar environment
- A confident, personable and professional manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good administrative and IT skills
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- A practical, solution-focused approach to resolving issues
You should be comfortable taking ownership of tasks, asking questions when needed, and maintaining high standards even when things are busy.
Salary and Benefits
- Β£25,350 to Β£26,325 per annum, equivalent to Β£13.00 to Β£13.50 per hour
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
