Who knew an old torn and stained cheese scone recipe could change our entire business?! 🥹❤️

One lovely customer trusted us with something incredibly precious. Her late dad’s handwritten recipe, which she wanted to turn into a special birthday gift for her brother.

We had absolutely NO idea what was about to happen next! 😂

That one order turned into a video with over 3 MILLION views across Instagram & TikTok, it was reshared hundreds of times and we had thousands of enquiries!!

It made us launch a whole new range of gifts we never imagined we’d be making!

And now we’ve restored over 6,000 pieces of handwriting!🤯

Recipes, birthday cards, little notes, scraps of paper… all those precious bits of handwriting that suddenly become priceless when someone is no longer here♥️

And to think it all started with a cheese scone recipe!

To that original customer, thank you. You changed our business forever!

Have you got a handwritten note or recipe from someone special that you’ll never throw away? ❤️

Five years of running Dinky Artist and we’ve learnt a thing or two about you our lovely customers… and your children! 😂

Some of these discoveries have raised more questions than answers! …. Shane, we’re particularly looking at you!! 👀

Consider this our contribution to important scientific research! 😂

Which one made you laugh? And more importantly, are you a Laura?! 😂

Breaking news!! Dreamworks TV have approved our idea and we will be partnering with them again!!! 🥳🥳🥳

I literally cannot believe it! Us with this global MASSIVE brand!! ♥️

Then yesterday we were invited to Universals global showcase event where we got to see all the major new movie releases for 2027/28 and to now chat about which ones/how we can get involved in them…..! This is an actual dream come true! 😍😍

Working with massive brands has always been on our ‘Dinky Artist Goals List’ but I never thought it would be Universal!!😂🤩🤯

I’m so excited to tell you more about the plans and what we are going to do! Initially we’ll be working with Gabby’s Dollhouse TV series on Netflix AND the brand new Doozies Doghouse(!! 🐶) and then we’ll now start conversations about how we can collaborate with these major movie releases next year!! 🎥

Running a small business is definitely not easy. There are plenty of days when you wonder what on earth you’re doing…..

But then you get days like this!

So go after the opportunity that feels too big, send the email, make the pitch, ask the question!

You never know who might say YES! ❤️

Your children draw hundreds of pictures and every now and then, there’s one you just can’t throw away isn’t there!❤️

This little family portrait came to us as a photo of a drawing on a piece of paper, We carefully edited it, keeping all those brilliant little details exactly as they were, and engraved it onto one of our wooden chopping boards! 🎁

Taking something they’ve drawn with their tiny hands and turning it into something that can live in your home for years and years🥹

So before you clear out that pile of drawings… you might want to keep a few😉❤️

Do you like seeing the transformations?!

September!! You absolute lunatic!!😂🤣 (slide 20!!!🤣🤣🤣)

We thought moving the entire business home might keep us busy enough this month…..Apparently not!!🤪

We’ve launched things, changed things, pitched things, made hundreds of things, run 10K, squeezed in a few days by the sea and somehow managed to eat a proper lunch most days! A MASSIVE improvement on our previous diet of tea and gross Tesco express meal deals! 😂

Oh, and apparently it’s nearly Christmas, so there’s absolutely no time to recover from any of it!🎄

It’s been chaotic, exhausting, exciting and an absolutely brilliant month! 🥳 💪

We’re settling into our new normal, have some VERY exciting things in the pipeline and are heading into our busiest time of year! Woohooo! 🎄

Anyway, that’s enough ‘relaxing’ for one month. October, let’s have you! 🚀❤️

P.S. Does anyone else feel like September lasted approximately 10 days?! 😂

We didn’t just make the T-shirts. We put them on! ❤️

Our relationship with the Olivia Kazimiera charity started last year when we were asked to make the merchandise for their very first event…..

We had met Olivia’s lovely family through the Creative Factory 🎨 and when you know the story behind this event, it’s impossible not to want to help.

This year Personalised Workwear & Merch made the T-shirts again, we added caps, made the hi-vis for the brilliant volunteers and marshals, and hosted the merchandise through our website — taking care of the ordering and fulfilment and passing the profit back to the charity.

There were also two very special little T-shirts for Olivia’s girls saying “Running for Mummy”. I found those emotional enough to make. Seeing the girls actually wearing them was something else. 🥹

And this year we wanted to do more than make things!

So Annabelle and I ran it too❤️

Seeing hundreds of people at Cornbury Park, all there because of an idea Olivia had before she died, was incredibly special and all there to raise money for her brilliant charity 💕

We’re very proud that our business gets to play a small part in things like this 🏃

My legs this morning are very stiff! 😂 Maybe we should have done the 5K rather than the 10!😂

Wow the rollercoaster!! 🎢 But what a journey these last 5 years have been!!

I feel like we are only just getting started now! We’ve learnt SO much and are so excited for the future 🚀

‘Pivoting’ is the only word to describe this journey and who’d have thought or planned the last 5 years to look like they have!

Bring on the next 5!! 🥳🥳🥳

Are you thinking of starting your own business or you have one? It’s most definitely not for the faint hearted but so so much fun!! 🤩

Today marks 100 days until Christmas… and their little drawings are about to become part of it 🥹🎄

Each year we launch our Christmas shop on the 100 days to go and this year is no different!…… Our Christmas 2026 Collection is officially LIVE! ❤️🥳

This year we wanted to create more than just Christmas presents. We wanted to make the things you’ll bring out every single year and remember just how little they were when they drew them!🥹

Their wonky Christmas trees, their funny little people, their backwards letters, their precious handwriting ❤️

We’ve turned them into brand NEW ultra personalised Christmas keepsakes — including Christmas tableware, engraved serving boards, festive tea towels, w**e boxes and more!🎄

Because one day their drawings won’t look like this anymore… but you can keep this little stage of them forever 🥹

Christmas 2026 is NOW LIVE and I cannot wait for you to see it all!🥳🎄

Comment 🎄 and I’ll send you the link so you can see the full range!

Send this and tag your school, nursery or friends on the PTA! 🌟

Each year we help hundreds of schools and nurseries fundraise at Christmas, using their children’s artwork we turn that into amazing gifts they sell to the parents and they keep all the profit which is hugely needed 💰

We’ve got our 2026 Christmas fundraising pack ready to send you so if you comment ‘schools’ below I’ll send you the link to download it! 🎄

Seeing all the children’s cutest handprints turned into reindeers and Christmas drawn scenes is just so wonderful! ⛄️

We’d love to help and support even more schools and nurseries this year! ♥️

It’s been a week of having the business being run from house! 🏡 Here’s a little honest update…..!

It’s definitely taking some adjustment…. But it’s working! And it’s all been throughly tested this week with a great Personalised Workwear & Merch order thrown into the mix and it all went without a hitch! 🙌

The biggest perk so far though of moving the business home is defo working in slippers! 😂

AND the huge amount of money we are saving - which I will do a whole post on!

I am a little concerned about Christmas though, as you can imagine Christmas is our most busiest time and it’s really not big in here but we’ll work it out! 🎄

Talking of Christmas….!!! We always launch our Christmas shop 100 days to go and that is next Wednesday 16th September! ☃️

If you want to be the first to know and see our new 2026 Christmas collection comment ‘🎄’ and I’ll send you the link to sign up to our emails and you’ll get the first look!! 👀

EXCITING!!!! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
