Yesterday, we celebrated the 60th birthday of June, our Production and Despatch Manager.

We presented June with a beautiful cake, flowers, and an ornamental hare, which she absolutely adored.

A message from our Managing Director, Richard Hiley:

"Centanarian Connections"

Congratulations to the University of Reading on celebrating its centenary week (chartered March 17, 1926).

Why does this matter?

Through the National Institute for Research in Dairying (NIRD), based at Reading, a number of important Ambic Equipment Limited products were developed— including mastitis detectors, FlowFilter, and dip cups. These innovations continue to play a vital role for dairymen around the world today. While the product range has expanded over 45 years, many of the core principles of mastitis control still trace back to this pioneering work.

On a personal note, my great-grandfather, Major Edward Fielden Pilkington O.B.E., was closely involved in supporting the institute during its early years. As a benefactor, governor, and NIRD board member, he helped secure a permanent home for the department, contributing to the purchase of Shinfield Manor Estate and supporting its mission in agricultural research.

So, congratulations once again to Reading on this milestone. The takeaway? What we invest in today shapes what we harvest tomorrow—often far beyond our own lifetime. Let’s make decisions that leave a lasting legacy.

On 6th February 2026, we proudly presented June Lathey with a cake to celebrate her 20 years of service at Ambic.

June joined us in 2006 and immediately hit the ground running, learning to manage the Vordin range following its acquisition. Demonstrating her ability to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy factory floor, June progressed to Despatch Supervisor in 2009, and later to Production and Despatch Manager — a role she continues to excel in today.

Reflecting on her time at Ambic, June said:
“It’s a great little company to work for, with lots of lovely colleagues that I have the pleasure of working with every day. I’m happy to see out my retirement here in the next few years.”

June truly is an asset to Ambic, and we cannot thank her enough for her hard work, loyalty, and dedication over the past 20 years.

Our team pulled out their most festive outfits for this year’s Christmas Jumper Day, and the office has never looked more cheerful!

A big congratulations to our Managing Director, Richard Hiley, who took home the prize for Best Dressed 😀

UK DISTRIBUTORS: 8th December
UK CUSTOMERS: 18th December

We will be closed from 12pm on Wednesday 24th December.

We will reopen on Monday, 5th January 2026.

This week, we welcomed a student from a local secondary school for her work-experience placement. This is part of Ambic’s ongoing commitment to supporting young people in our community; we’ve hosted a number of students in previous years and always value the opportunity to help them gain real-world insight.

When reflecting on her week at Ambic, she said:

"Ambic provided me the amazing opportunity to do work experience with them this week. This opportunity has provided me insight into work life and preparing me for future scenarios. At Ambic, there's a range of jobs you can try out, each day I did a new one and it introduced me to many new skills. I recommend Ambic to any other students doing work experience."
