Since suffering from meningitis in July 2012, I have spent many hours pursuing my lifelong love of crafting. Thanks to my mum Val, I started crafting at a young age with needlework. I have now progressed to jewellery and recently featured as a Guest Designer on the JewelleryMaker channel. I’ve now decided to share my love of crafting with everyone. I generally have five or six needlework pieces in progress at any one time. I design and create most of my needlework pieces myself and I can do the same for you for example maybe there is a new little one in your life and you would like a permanent reminder of the birth or a wedding sampler. There are just a few of the pieces I can make. If you contact me to discuss your requirements I can work with you to create that special piece. I create individual pieces in a variety of mediums such as pearl knotting, wire work, chain maille, polymer clay and beading. All pieces are unique and made with high quality materials. You can buy from my range of jewellery I have already made by viewing the photographs on my page. Alternatively, you can contact me and I will work with you to create and make a unique design for you. Certificates of authenticity can be provided for the gems used in the pieces, if requested. Pearl Knotting
Have you noticed how pearls are having a comeback and wanted to own your own genuine pearl necklace? I have a range pearl that I create jewellery from cultured freshwater pearls to shell pearls. May be you would like to combine a pearls with gems, I can create these as either a knotted necklace or something more elaborate with wire or beading thread. One of my favourite mediums to create in is wire and examples of my wirework can be seen in the photographs on these pages. Wire enables you to create big bold statement pieces or simple necklaces, bracelets and rings which let the gems speak from themselves. I have recently discovered the art of Chain Maille. This is an ancient technique which armourers used to create chain maille for knights of the realm. Today we have translated this art into jewellery where you can create beautiful pieces of chain maille which can either be bold or subtle dependant on the colours and types of jump rings you use to create the maille. This technique is still used to create re-enactment armour, however I’m not quite up to that yet… give me a few more weeks and maybe I could. I also use polymer clay to create unique jewellery. You may remember 'fimo' from your childhood. I remember making models and baking them in the oven. Polymer clay has come a long way since then and you can now make beautiful jewellery out of it. And then there is bead work which we can see in most high street stores. My bead work differs from this is an much that I use semi precious gems to create my pieces. As you can see I have expanded my repertoire over the past six months and have a range of needlework and jewellery pieces that I make.
