It's been a while since I did an update on the work going on at the house. I decided not to attempt the new fence and gate myself. I am so out of practice with my tools I think it would have cost me so much more in time and materials than these professionals. They did a great job and also made me a path to get rid of the cat crapping area at the front of my home!! It is ok to admit that you are not able to do a job on your own house even with a knowledge of tools. The trick is not to let your ego fool you into believing you could have done a better job! I haven't been in my workshop yet to use it. I'm hoping to change that over the next few months. Thanks for sticking by me, even though I don't post much at the moment , I still appreciate all of you and try to keep up with all your wonderful talents when I can. This Instagram community means the world to me and some of you have become real friends so thank you. Thanks for reading. :-)

I think sometimes that the fairies visit in the night and magic my inlays in place, because sometimes I stop and wonder how did I do that? It looks amazing HOW did I do that?! I'm grateful to have learnt this skill that keeps me believing in magic.

My first inlay attempt in a while and of course I've not chosen something simple.🤣 This walnut wand needs a few more embellishments added yet, so I'll be getting my practice. Fingers crossed I haven't lost my skills during my break!! 🤓

the beginnings of a wand. I'm not into harry potter but my partner is so I'm making this wand out of walnut. I will be inlaying it with some yellow heart today or tomorrow so more pictures to come !!
