Argon is still the biggest gap I see in standard permanent jewellery training alongside machine settings and client safety ( providing welding glasses for your clients always )
The fact is, whichever brand of permanent jewellery welder you use, you have a micro TIG welder — Tungsten Inert Gas.
Argon IS the inert gas ⛽️. It’s literally in the name of the machine, yet so many people are trained without it !!!
Your machine is NOT designed to be used without Argon
By not using a shielding gas your weld is unfortunately exposed to the atmosphere, leaving it contaminated, weak and unsightly. If you’re having clients return with failed welds or not returning at all, this is likely why
Argon isn’t an optional extra. It’s part of the professional welding process
